The Lady Saints Softball team has been on a hot streak, winning 11 games in a row. Along with the winning streak, the team is slowing climbing back up the college rankings, moving up two spots into the No. 11 position.
Pitcher Melissa Dickie has played a big part in helping the Lady Saints climb in the rankings. She is a perfect 16-0 in her freshman season and was recently named the Peach Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week after going 5-0 this week against her Peach Belt foes.
On April 15, the team traveled to Lander University to play in a doubleheader. The two games would be the closest games that the Lady Saints have played during their 11-game winning streak. The final score in game one was 3-1, and the final score in game two was 2-1 in eight innings.
On April 14, the Lady Saints played at home against USC Aiken. The Lady Saints won 7-0.
In game two, USC Aiken was leading 2-1 after three innings. However, in the fourth inning the Lady Saints scored 7 runs, to take a 8-2 lead, and won by a final score of 8-5.
On April 12, the Lady Saints took on UNC Pembroke at home. In game one, the UNC Pembroke team took a beating, losing 8-0. In game two nothing changed as the Lady Saints walked home with a 3-0 victory.
The Lady Saints have an overall record of 41-7 and a Peach Belt Conference record of 15-3.
